Parentesi Suspension Lamp - Flos
Parentesi Suspension Lamp - Flos
Parentesi is one of the most emblematic lamps in the history of design, born from the collaboration between Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù .
It is a hybrid lamp between a suspension and a floor lamp , which completely breaks the traditional lighting schemes, focusing on a functional, mobile, direct and technical, but aesthetically powerful concept .
The essence of the project lies in the free suspension of the light point along a vertical tension cable , which can be adjusted as desired.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Parenthesis consists of:
-
a steel cable stretched from the ceiling to the floor
-
a vertical metal element shaped like a "parenthesis" , from which it takes its name
-
an adjustable spotlight holder , which can slide along the cable and rotate 360°
-
a friction locking system, which allows the light point to be fixed in any position
It is a lamp designed for those seeking maximum freedom in the direction of light , with a brutalist and radically honest aesthetic.
DIMENSIONS
-
Maximum installation height: 4000 mm (adjustable via the steel cable)
-
