Design and concept

The Echo display case, designed by Marcel Wanders & Gabriele Chiave , is an inhabitable sculpture conceived as a reflective device: the molten glass texture creates a prismatic effect that visually “bounces” between structure and setting.

The name "Echo" recalls this very concept of multiplication and reflective depth .

Structure and materials

• Painted aluminum frame , available in the following finishes:

  • Metallic Champagne

• Base in extralight glass (6 mm thick), tempered and back-painted in the colour of the structure

• Side and front doors :

  • Glass in extralight fused (glass fused at high temperature) or flat non-fused, and in semi-reflective glass

  • Internal shelves :

  • In extralight tempered glass, 8 mm thick .

  • Each shelf supports up to 20 kg, the top shelf up to 30 kg (specific for the horizontal version) .

• Vertical showcase :

  • 101 × 41 × 163 cm (width × depth × height) – 2 doors

LED lighting integrated into the front uprights is available in the structure, with a refined atmospheric effect and enhancement of the glass texture .

• The three-dimensional texture of the molten glass creates geometric reflections and a lighting effect that varies according to natural or artificial light .

• The union between “light” glass and metal structure gives a modern elegance, capable of constituting both a container and a distinctive sculptural element .
